Elie HATUNGIMANA is a visual multi-disciplinary artist born in 1998, raised and works in
Rwanda. He studied and graduated in graphic arts at Nyundo School of Arts. In early 2020, he
started doing art career dedicated to learning and very importantly becoming a better version of
myself as a visual artist working with visual art. His painting depicts contemporary socialism and
narrative art stories engaged with them related to daily community life that inspire, empower and
connect with the viewers.
His paintings focus on the transformation of ordinary and abstract spaces into an impressionable
world that can be transformed into something meaningful. Art for him is an extension of self. A
picture is more than just art and to him, fine art is not simply making beautiful things. Also, its
simple but powerful tool can be applied to all walks of life or any
situation
Hat_Elie in his art journey liked to be inspired by realms of nature and social communities lives
and the captivating world of creative fashion. Through my art journey, I strive to explore the
harmonious connection between our social existence the beauty of nature, and the ever-evolving
world of fashion. Social community stories and nature full of an abundance of color textures and
landscapes serve as the backdrop of his art.
People’s lives, daily stories, interactions, and routines fascinate me endlessly. He is captivated by
emotions to convey the relationship they forge and the narratives that unfold with the story.
Through my artworks I strive to capture these moments of community life connection, portraying
them as snapshots of daily life that resonate with viewers on a deeply personal level.
